“Bar Modular is a true pioneer”

Thomas Lathouwers is the driving force behind ThirsT, a total concept that focuses on excellent bars. ThirsT is currently mainly active at corporate receptions and celebrations, garden parties and weddings. Thomas has been a loyal Bar Modular client for many years and with good reason.

So much more than just quenching your thirst

As a student, Thomas worked as a bartender. Later he travelled to Paris and Madrid and eventually Brazil. He worked as a hotel manager there and discovered the typical Brazilian cocktail bars that offered cocktails made to order. “When I returned to Belgium, I missed that feeling,” Thomas recalls. “That sensation, combined with craftsmanship and a passion for cocktails, is what I wanted to recreate here with ThirsT.” Today, ThirsT takes things one step further still with tea and coffee bars, wine and champagne bars. “Each establishment offers a quality experience with the best products and trained staff.”

The modular approach only has advantages

“We build modular bars with Bar Modular components for all kinds of events,” Thomas says. “We are currently considering offering catering as well: our bars have already served as food stands on several occasions.”

“When we just started out, I was looking for a good supplier. I found out online that there was a good supplier just around the corner: Bar Modular, which was still called Toogpunt at the time,” Thomas adds. “Our first conversation was very pleasant. I met with professionals who wanted to make a true contribution and who approached me in a human and flexible way. That is very important to me.”

“Bar Modular is a true pioneer in modular bars,” Thomas says. “It chose its name well. The advantage of the modular approach is self-evident: with the components, the sky is the limit. And that is not all: we can be on the go transporting metres and metres of bars without them taking up a lot of space.”

“We have been using our Bar Modular components for several years now,” Thomas concludes. “They were built to last. They are used very heavily, which is why we had them powder coated again a while ago, but they still make quite the appearance at our events.”
